You own the model
Every file I hand over is clean enough for you to edit and defend yourself. No locked logic, no black boxes, no reason to keep paying me just to change a cell.
About · Kairos Advisory · Peachtree Corners, GA
I'm Daniel, and Kairos Advisory is just me — the fractional CFO you bring in before a full-time hire makes sense. Here's how I think about money, timing, and the founders I take on.
Why Kairos
For a decade I sat inside growth-stage finance teams — the person who built the model, closed the month, and walked the board through it. Over and over I saw the same thing: the decision was already made by the time the numbers arrived to inform it.
Kairos is the Greek word for the opportune moment — not clock time, but the opening when a choice is actually ripe. I named the firm after it because that's the only window a CFO's judgment is worth anything in. A beautiful forecast delivered after the hiring freeze, the missed raise, the blown runway — that's just an expensive autopsy.
So I built Kairos to do the opposite: fixed-scope work, delivered while it still changes the outcome.
What I stand on
Every file I hand over is clean enough for you to edit and defend yourself. No locked logic, no black boxes, no reason to keep paying me just to change a cell.
You get a one-page scope with the deliverable, the timeline and a flat number before I touch anything. Billed per engagement — never a creeping retainer you forgot you were on.
If a spreadsheet and an afternoon would fix it, I'll say so on the intro call. I'd rather lose a small job than sell you a CFO you aren't ready to use.
The road here
I learned the craft inside two venture-backed companies — building the operating models, running the monthly close, and translating "what the numbers say" into language a founder could act on by Friday.
I sat beside founders through Series A and B diligence — cleaning historicals, stress-testing assumptions, and fielding the investor questions that make or break a term sheet. That's where I learned what a model has to survive.
I set up on my own so founders could get that same CFO judgment one engagement at a time — without a six-figure salary line. One advisor, your whole picture, working out of Peachtree Corners, GA.
What it's actually like
No junior hand-offs, no account manager relaying your questions to someone you never meet. When you call Kairos, you get me — and I stay on your numbers from the first session to the final handoff.
A free intro call, then a working session in your actual accounting, bank feeds and pipeline — not a questionnaire. By the end I can tell you where the cash gets tight.
I'll say "you have nine months of runway and here's the one lever that buys you three more" — not a forty-slide deck you have to decode on your own.
Nothing lands in your inbox cold. We review every model and board pack together so you own the logic — and follow-up questions are part of the deal.
I take on only as many engagements as I can give real attention to. If I can't do your work justice right now, I'll tell you when I can — or point you to someone who can sooner.
Now you know who you'd be working with
One call, no obligation. Tell me where it's tight and I'll tell you what I'd do first — and whether a fixed engagement is even the right move for you right now.
